TROUBLED Amanda Bynes is set to be released from her rehab centre into the care of her mother in time for Christmas.
The former Nickelodeon star has been in a Malibu rehab treatment centre since leaving the UCLA psychiatric care ward in late September.
But it seems her treatment and medication have stablised Bynes' health and she will be released into her mother’s care next month, TMZ reports.
Doctors are also releasing the actor because they are worried that Bynes is going stir-crazy in the rehab centre. Bynes is forbidden from going outside the building because of the paparazzi surrounding the facility. Staffers are worried any pap shots of the actor could include other patients, which would violate their medical confidentiality, TMZ reports.
The former Amanda Show star was placed on psych hold and her parents were giving conservatorship of her fortune after her increasingly bizarre behaviour caused alarm.
Bynes hit out at "ugly" celebs on Twitter, was often spotted around New York wearing a blue or blonde wig, was kicked out of a spin class for taking off her clothes and also allegedly threw a bong out of her Manhattan apartment window.
