Four years in prison nets Amanda Knox $4 million

What's the going rate for the story of spending four brutal years in an Italian prison on a murder charge? HarperCollins will pay Amanda Knox $4 million for her side of a lurid saga that gripped two continents. Knox was freed last October after an Italian appeals court overturned her conviction in the 2007 killing of her former roommate. The Seattle native will "give a full and unflinching account of the events that led to her arrest in Perugia and her struggles with the complexities of the Italian judicial system," HarperCollins said in a statement. The book has a tentative release date of early 2013.
