Tightroper Nik Wallenda given greenlight for stroll across Niagara Falls
Nik Wallenda

Nik Wallenda, a seventh-generation circus performer who practices his precarious act on top of Ferris wheels, has received clearance to tightrope across Niagara Falls. The Niagara Parks Commission reversed its previous refusal to let Wallenda high-wire his way across the world-famous waterfall, according to the NY Times. Funambulist enthusiasts (we did not make that term up) on Twitter and elsewhere are delighted, but no one's happier about this development than Wallenda himself, who says, "I was approved unanimously! Praise God for His unmerited favor!" If you can't bear to watch him perform his stunt live, rent "Man on Wire." Philippe Petit, the subject of the film, made it across the Twin Towers without a scratch.

Is Wallenda insane to attempt this feat?
