TROUP COUNTY, GA - Troupe County Deputies said they have taken a suspect who shot a deputy on Monday into custody.

Upon arrival, the deputy exited his vehicle and walked toward the house when he heard banging. The deputy turned towards the noise to find a white male firing gunshots at him. The deputy ran away and the male suspect went after him in a truck.

When the suspect exited the truck, the deputy was finally able to return shots. The suspect then fled the scene in a truck.

The deputy was shot in the crossfire but was able to get back to his vehicle to call for help.
