Female found dead at Homewood Suites, another transported to hospital

ALPHARETTA, GA - Alpharetta police say they are investigating a possible homicide after a woman was found dead and another injured inside a room at an Alpharetta hotel on Monday

According to Alpharetta Police spokesman George Gordon, officers were called to the Homewood Suites on Davis Drive for a welfare check by hotel management after a guest failed to check out and the cleaning crews were unable to gain access to the room. Upon arrival, they discovered two women in the room. One woman, identified as 61 year-old Ruth Reissinger, was found dead. The other woman, 38 year-old Elizabeth Reissinger, was in critical condition. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The second woman was taken to North Fulton Hospital, police said. There’s no word on her condition.

Police say they're treating the case as a homicide but they don't believe any one else is in danger or at risk, and that the "hotel is safe."

The names and ages of the victims have not been released by authorities.
