Atlanta Police said they have arrested the man they believe shot a woman as she walked in the crosswalk on Peachtree Street early Monday morning.
In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Investigators say Raylon Browning, 39, of Roswell shot 40-year-old Trinhh Huynh, an Atlanta-area lawyer, at close range while she was walking to work in the 900 block of Peachtree Street NE around 7:40 a.m. Monday.
Authorities say Browning was stopped Monday night around 9 p.m. after running a red light and arrested on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault. While in custody, investigators noticed that Browning match the description of the man in the video released by police late Monday night. Browning was also wearing the same shorts and tennis shoes as the suspect in the video.
Browning was transferred to the Fulton County Jail.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
