1 killed, 5 injured after valet driver fails to park car

Police say a woman is dead and five others injured after a valet driver plowed into a group of pedestrians near a restaurant in Midtown Atlanta early Saturday morning.

The incident happened overnight near Einstein's restaurant on 6th and Juniper streets.

Police say the valet driver got out of the vehicle and forgot to fully shift into park. The vehicle began to roll forward and the valet driver tried to jump back in, he accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

Police say one of the victims, later identified as 33 year-old Ebony McRae-Curley, became pinned between two vehicles. She was transported to Grady Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The five other victims were also taken to Grady with minor injuries, police said.

It is unclear if the valet driver will faces charges.
