Authorities say they have located Maranda Hakimi Harvey in Athens. She was found by the Athens-Clarke County Police just before 10 a.m. Saturday after a tipster said she was staying at the Graduate Hotel.

- Officers are searching for a woman they said abandoned her 4-year-old child alone in Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport earlier Friday

According to Sergeant Warren Pickard with the Atlanta Police Department, 29-year-old Maranda Hakimi Harvey drove her personal car from Oddenton, Maryland to the airport. While at the airport's atrium, she asked a random couple to watch the girl while she did some quick shopping. Police said Harvey never came back. The couple called authorities after several hours.

Investigators said they have been performing a multi-state search for Harvey since Friday and believe she is driving a white Nissan Versa with Florida tag HKNA25 which she rented at the airport.

Harvey is described as being 5'2" tall, 135-pound woman with brunette hair and brown eyes.

The child is currently in police custody, but Pickard said they are trying to make contact with a family member back in Maryland that is able to care for the child.

"Why this child was left in the airport for all this time, unattended, is concerning," Pickard said. "Who would leave a 4-year-old child with strangers? Even if you were going to shop, a wise person would not do that."

Anyone who sees her should call 911 and anyone with information regarding the incident should contact the Atlanta Police Department.
