ATLANTA -- A DeKalb County prosecutor has been placed on leave following his arrest for driving under the influence.

The DeKalb Solicitor-General's office said Assistant Solicitor Wystan Getz was arrested this weekend. Police did not immediately release a report describing his arrest.

Solicitor's office spokeswoman Emily Gest said the prosecutor was placed on administrative leave without pay Monday pending the outcome of an internal probe. The state attorney general's office will prosecute the case to prevent a conflict of interest.

A phone listing for Getz could not be located.

INCREDULOUS! I have had one DUI, I was arrested for DUI only. I cant imagine if I was also charged with attempting to elude law enforcement. I would probably still be in jail. I went straight to jail, had to do 120 hours of comm. service and a hefty fine. This solicitor general got a little SPECIAL treatment, incredible!!! God bless you man..........

The cop who let him go and did not take him to jail is under investigation. This is highly unacceptable and a true travesty of justice. The police in Decatur have a very heavy hand with the black population but treat the white residents very differently. This is just one example that made the press. I'm sure it will be swept under the carpet, while the blacks will get arrested for drinking on their porches.

Before this DUI embarrassment and scandal Wynstan Getz's claim to fame was defending a guy who got sentenced to the longest punishment in Georgia history. He defended Kollie in a case where no one got killed yet Wynstan Get's client was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences plus 265 years. I guess this is kind of karma because even though he got the red carpet treatment his reputation will always have a mark on it.

How can you run from the cops and have a car chase and NOT be thrown in jail. Wow this is a HUGE double standard.
