A Kentucky man in court for scalping his girlfriend and leaving her permanently bald told the judge "I don't need a lecture", as he was being sentenced.
According to court documents, On September 14, 2015, 31-year-old Zachary Gross, scalped his girlfriend Marilyn Stanley and laughed after ordering his pet pit bull named Capone, to attack her.
Court documents show Gross cracked her ribs during the savage beating then cut into her scalp with a "sharp knife", leaving her skull exposed before making fun of her appearance "You are bald now. Who's going to want you now?" a court heard.
Stanley said she had to endure a string of major operations and had suffered permanent nerve damage and is now forced to wear a hat to cover her scalp.
The Kentucky man told Boone County Circuit Judge Rick Brueggemann: ‘It is what it is. I’m not asking for your mercy. Just give me the 20. I don’t need a lecture.’
He was sentenced yesterday to 20 years in prison.
A fundraiser has been set up to help Ms Stanley with the medical bills as a result of Gross’ domestic abuse.
