CLEVELAND, Oh. - Cleveland police on Sunday launched a manhunt for an "armed and dangerous gunman who shot an elderly man dead on Facebook Live".

In the horrifying video footage, the suspect identified as 37-year-old Steve Stephens can be seen walking up to someone he doesn't know and shooting him dead..

A statement from Cleveland Police said: “The suspect did broadcast the killing on Facebook Live and has claimed to have committed multiple other homicides which are yet to be verified.

Stephens is described as a bald man with full beard approximately 6’1” and weighing 244lbs. He is believed to be driving a white or cream colored SUV. He is wearing a dark blue and grey or black striped polo shirt.

He is considered armed and dangerous and civilians are advised not to approach him

The victim shot dead in the video has been identified as 74-year-old Robert Goodwin Sr.

The first video was shared shortly after 9pm this evening - with the warning: "Please Be Care This Man Is Going Around Cleveland Killin Ppl on Facebook."

A man by the name of Stevie Steve posted on Facebook earlier: "Easter day slaughter today.”

Local hospitals have reportedly been put on standby “to receive more victims”.

In a chilling Facebook post, Stephens described his killing spree as an "Easter Day of Slaughter".

He added: "I'm the good guy."

It is believed that Stephens was a case worker at Children's mental health unit, Beech Brook.

A statement from Beech Brook read: "We hope and pray that he is arrested as soon as possible and we hope and pray for a resolution quickly"
