Talk about getting an earful. After his sixth-grade basketball team lost its championship game at Holy Names School in Springfield, Mass., an enraged assistant coach allegedly assaulted the winning coach and bit off part of his ear. According to police, Timothy Lee Forbes, 34, was pulled off the victorious coach by bystanders following the game last Friday.
The semi-earless coach, also 34, was rushed by ambulance to the hospital where his lacerated ear was reattached. He has been released. Forbes was to be arraigned in Springfield District Court this afternoon.
