Todd Gurley has been the Georgia offense

Todd Gurley suspended indefinitely, will miss game vs. Missouri

The Georgia Bulldogs have announced that Todd Gurley has been suspended indefinitely for possible NCAA rules violations. The violations concern extra benefits for his likeness with memorabilia brokers, according Bruce Feldman.

In the statement released by Georgia, Coach Mark Richt stated that he was “obviously disappointed” in the situation. Still, the Bulldogs have to get ready for a big game on Saturday.

Georgia, in a hotly contested battle for the SEC East crown, begins their toughest stretch of games on Saturday at Missouri. For an offensive team so reliant on the talent of Gurley, Georgia may have a hard time adapting to life without the Heisman Trophy candidate. However, the Bulldogs have the deepest corps of running backs in the country.  Well, that was before the suspension of Gurley.

Georgia was already without the services of Sony Michel, but Keith Marshall can give Georgia a much needed lift on Saturday.  Nick Chubb will be the go to back early on, and he may have a monster day for Georgia.

Todd Gurley was having a great season up to now, and opponents had to change their game plan just to slow down the junior running back. Hutson Mason also has the ability to step up as the quarterback, and they’ll need him to be at his best from here on out.
