Apple Lets Possible Re-branding Slip
Apple Lets Possible Re-branding Slip

Apple seems to have inadvertently let its upcoming OS X rebrand on a Frequently Asked Questions webpage for app subscriptions. The mistake, which has now been corrected, referred to the Apple operating system as macOS, rather that OS X.

Apple has previously used the macOS name on the OS X framework and webpages before realizing and fixing its mistakes. The company has used the OS X since 2002, differentiating at first with the names of big cats, and then later changing that to California landmarks.

Apple is expected to move to the name macOS in order for its desktop operating software uses the same naming convention as Apple’s other major operating systems.

The new macOS or OS X will preview at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference, which is taking place on June 13th in San Francisco.
