Google wants to take over your iPhone keyboard, and you should probably let it

Google has finally released its iOS keyboard replacement to the UK App Store. The app, called Gboard, was released almost a month after it was announced in the U.S.

The new iOS keyboard is designed to completely replace the default Apple keyboard that you’re probably already using on your iPhone.

Google’s new keyboard is bringing the power of search to your smartphone, thanks to a small Google logo that sits in the top left-hand corner, above the QWERTY keys. This new button allows the user to launch a new web, image or GIF search without ever leaving the keyboard.

Results appear as Material Design cards, displaying all the key information, such as a phone number, ratings or opening hours. With a single tap, you can send the cards to your friend. You can also copy and pastes results, or add any GIFs or images that come up.
