Twitter pretends to care about literature on Dickens' 200th birthday

"It is the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens. And I forgot to buy a card. So clearly, it's the worst of times," one user Tweeted this morning. Not to worry, since the "Great Expectations" and "Oliver Twist" author is being celebrated with everything from a wreath-laying in Westminster Abbey to a worldwide read-a-thon.

Dickens, best known for being required reading in everyone's high school English class, was also a hall-of-fame wordsmith, giving us a legacy of terms like "bah humbug" and "butterfingers." So happy birthday, Mr. Dickens. Without you, we'd have no way to describe the New England Patriots wide receivers.
