Fresh from offering us a zillion and one options like sad-face, laughing-face, Facebook is now redesigning the actual ‘Like’ button.
But it’s not the one in the actual Facebook app – it’s the button you see on other sites across the web, enabling you to tell all your Facebook friends how much you love stuff.
Facebook is changing it from a little Facebook ‘F’ to a thumbs up.
Facebook said in a blog post, ‘The Like and Share buttons both use the Facebook “f” logo today.
‘Our hypothesis was that more people would understand the thumbs up icon on the Like button, so we conducted qualitative and quantitative tests to measure them side-by-side.
‘The results revealed an increase in engagement, so we are switching the Like button from the Facebook “f” logo to the thumbs up icon.’
