While at an event for their TV show Project Greenlight recently, actor-director Ben Affleck accidentally revealed his collaborator and good friend Matt Damon would star in a new Bourne film.

Everyone - let's thank Ben Affleck for his inability to keep a secret.

The actor-director was at an event for his reality show Project Greenlight with collaborator and good friend Matt Damon recently when he let slip the fact that Damon is returning to the Bourne series with a new film.

Affleck, 42, was joking about the state of his physical fitness with E! News when he accidentally revealed the news.

"Well, (Damon's) going to be doing a Bourne movie next fall when I've just completely lost any semblance of physical fitness. So…." he said.

Damon, 44, later confirmed the news to E!, revealing that The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass will return as director.

On IMDB, the project is being called The Bourne Betrayal, with a tentative release date of July 15, 2016.

This will be good news for fans of the original Bourne trilogy starring Damon, after mixed reviews and moderate box office takings for the fourth film, The Bourne Legacy, which starred Jeremy Renner.
