The Atlanta Metro region is home to Georgia's Capital city, Atlanta, a place bursting with history and culture. Civil War battles were fought in the area, and General Sherman burned the city to the ground in 1864. Margaret Mitchell Wrote Gone With The Wind, the best selling book in the world after the Bible, while living in Atlanta, and Coca-Cola was also created here. The city is the birthplace of Martin Luther King jr. and was an important center in the civil rights movement.
