'Operation Breaking Bad' ends in numerous arrests and seizures of arms and drugs

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A yearlong investigation by the Gwinnett County Gang Task Force and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) titled 'Operation Breaking Bad' concluded with 34 felony arrest warrants issued for 25 suspects.

Twenty-one suspects had charges stemming from Gwinnett County cases and the remaining four suspects had cases coming out of other counties

The investigation targeted numerous gang members and drug dealers selling both narcotics and weapons throughout Gwinnett County and metro Atlanta. 

During the operation, Numerous firearms were seized, as well as 1400 grams of methamphetamine and 90 grams of heroin.

“This operation shows the vital impact that law enforcement on the federal, state, and local level can have when we work together to make our communities safer places to live," said Gwinnett County Police Chief Butch Ayers.

Police say they are still searching for several suspects wanted in connection with this investigation.
