Lamora Williams

ATLANTA - Atlanta Police said two infants were found dead late Friday night and the mother of the children has been arrested.

Lamora Williams, 24, faces two counts of murder after officers were called out to the Oakland City West End Apartments on Friday night where two infants, a one year old and two year old, were found dead. Police said the two boys sustained burns possibly from the stove at their apartment

According to preliminary information, the mother said she left the children with her sister from noon to 11:30 p.m. Friday, and when she came home she found the two boys unresponsive. After gathering evidence and speaking with neighbors, investigators believe the children were left alone in the apartment.

"We were called out around 11 p.m. Friday on a person injured call," Atlanta Police Lieutenant Carven Tyus said. "When officers arrived they found two children, a one year old and a two year old, deceased. They had obvious injuries and burns on their bodies, but we don't have a cause of death at this time."

Police have not released the identities of the victims.

"They've been sent to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office for autopsies, so we can figure out the cause of death," Tyus said.

Police are still investigating and the cause of death is unknown at this time.
