Carolyn DeKalb

- A former Forsyth County Fire Department administrative assistant is facing charges for allegedly supplying two teen boys with alcohol and more.

Carolyn DeKalb is also facing misdemeanor charges for possession of marijuana and a counterfeit substance likened to LSD.

The 49-year-old woman posted a bond of $3,300 to walk out of the Forsyth County Jail.

Neighbors were surprised to learn of the misdemeanor charges against her.

"That's a ‘no go,’ anytime, anywhere, even in your own home, that's a ‘no go,’" said a neighbor who identified herself only as Nancy.

No answer at DeKalb's home in north Forsyth County. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said she's facing various misdemeanor charges for providing alcohol and other items to juveniles on several occasions.

"The allegation is that at her home she would furnish alcohol to these teenagers, two teenagers, ages 14 and 15," said Deputy First Class Doug Rainwater.

He said the boys involved are not DeKalb’s children.

Rainwater said Ms. DeKalb was arrested in early September after a complaint about the alleged incidents which occurred in March.

Last week, after a court hearing, Rainwater said the Forsyth County Solicitors Office added seven more charges for a total of ten charges. Those charges now include three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, three counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, possession of marijuana, and three charges connected to counterfeit drugs after DeKalb made statements about LSD.

Ms. DeKalb is a former administrative assistant for the Forsyth County Fire Department, who according to a spokesman, quit a couple of days after she was arrested. She'd been with the department 15 years.

Neighbor Brenda Williams was having a tough time believing the allegations.

"You know. I just hardly can't believe it. but you know everything happens. but I just can't believe it," said Williams.

As far as the teen boys involved, the sheriff's office said under state law the police report, in this case, was not available because they are juveniles.
