- Police continue to investigate after a woman was shot and killed during an apparent robbery at a Howell Mill Road wine bar.

A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department said officers responded to a call that someone had been shot at Barcelona Wine Bar Westside Ironworks on Howell Mill Road around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

Responding officers said they found the victim, 29-year-old Chelsea Beller, shot once in the shoulder. Police said she was an employee at the restaurant.

As the restaurant was closing Sunday morning, three men entered the bar and tied the employees up with electrical tape, officials said. Beller was forced to open the bar's upstairs safe and was shot afterward.

The suspects then fled the scene, Atlanta Police said.

Beller was transported to Grady where she was declared dead.

Barcelona Wine Bar's General Manager Eric Ferraro said the loss was a "horrible tragedy."

"It has shaken all of us. As the investigation gets underway, we are working closely with Atlanta police to help them with the investigation," he said in a statement. "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family and our team."

The investigation is ongoing.
