The Georgia Senate voted to expand Sunday alcohol sales Tuesday.

The proposal would allow Georgians to buy alcohol at restaurants and wineries after 11 a.m. on Sunday

The current law, which prohibits alcohol sales before 12:30 p.m., would still be in place for sales in grocery stores and gas stations.

The bill now goes the House.

If it passes there, it will go to a referendum vote at the local level.
