A WOMAN has been killed after a suicidal 12-year-old boy jumped from a 30ft bridge and landed on her car.

A WOMAN has been killed after a suicidal 12-year-old boy jumped from a 30ft bridge and landed on her car.

The boy suffered life-threatening injuries after the tragedy which killed 22-year-old Marisa Harris.

The boy leapt from the overpass in Virginia in a bid to end his life but crashed into Marisa’s car, reports NBC Washington.

Her boyfriend, who was sat in the front passenger seat, was able to steer the car off the highway.

Marisa, of Olney, Maryland, who was studying clinical counselling at Marymount University in Virginia, was pronounced dead at the scene, while her boyfriend was unharmed.

Cops said the unnamed boy was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital in northern Virginia.

The victim’s mom said if given the chance, Marisa could have helped the boy who jumped.

Police originally said a man had fallen off the overpass at about 4.18pm on Saturday in the eastbound lanes of I-66 at the Cedar Lane overpass.

An attempted suicide investigation is currently underway.
