Twitter users shouldn't automatically despair when they see their followers number plummet overnight.

The social media network has confessed to TechCrunch that it's just "a bug, and our team is working to fix it."

The glitch makes it appear as if users have lost followers, and that they're not following feeds they actually ARE following.

This revelation has eased the mind of Tweeps like @BenjySarlin, who comments, "Clearly only reason I don't have 100,000 followers."

Apparently the issue has been addressed in Twitter's FAQ, but most people don't seem to know about it.

For those with numeral envy, the easy fix is to keep the porn sites that follow you en masse instead of blocking them.
