Botonicalls creates wi-fi enabled planet care system. Will this be a successful business?

No need to set up that amaryllis cam after all. With SparkFun's Botanicalls Kit, just hook your houseplants up to a tiny chip that senses when they're low on water and sends a tweet to your mobile phone to let you know they're parched.

The high-tech gardening device is part of the Botanicalls mission to open up a "new channel of communication between plants and humans, in an effort to promote successful inter-species understanding" (um, yeah...OK). The unit comes with preprogrammed messages, but you can also create customizable ones, so get ready to set up that #HappyHourforHostas hashtag.

Now if only they could get *pants* to tweet -- that's a potentially titillating text we'd like to see.

What would your plants tweet about you if they could?
